This is a great lecture for both judges and coaches. We will show examples of what some common deductions (lack of acceleration, head/arm position) are in the Level 2-5 tumbling and what may be causing the athlete to have those deductions. Then we will show drills that will help the athlete develop the strength, flexibility, and body awareness to complete the skills without these deductions. We will also explain the philosophy of why these skills were choosen by the Development Committee and how they help provide the necessary basics which are the building blocks for more advanced skills. Even though this lecture will focus on the compulsory tumbling, the drills are also relevant to the Xcel program.
