In this lecture I cover the importance of mastering a forward handstand before asking athletes to try moving backwards through that shape in their back walkover and back handspring. I cover eye pathway importance: keeping eyes on the beam, watching feet land. I also cover how to build a strong and controlled handstand forward and backwards on the floor, on floor beams and regulation height beams.
This vaulting session focuses on effective drills and side stations that don’t require a vault table, making it easier to train essential skills in any setting. Emphasis is placed on gradual progressions for Front Handsprings, Tsukaharas, and Yurchenkos, helping coaches build strong fundamentals and technique through creative, table-free training methods.
