Address the System, Not the Symptom
Straighten Your Legs! Cover Your Ears! While these corrections are often important and accurate, they are likely not going to be solved simply by repeating them over and over. Addressing the why and the how are imperative to mastering new skills and minimizing deductions. In order to make real change, the entire skill needs to be analyzed as a chain of actions and reactions within the body and with the equipment. We can use scientific principles to better recognize and understand these patterns and thus help our athletes address their needs.
